“Proposed legislation would make divorcing couples wait six months before papers can be finalized to allow for possible reconciliation. What do you think of this idea?”
By Brad Wood
Charles Gillogly Sales, Phoenix “I think it’s a good idea. People are too selfish. You don’t get married expecting a divorce. So, this is the best way to make people think about life and the value of the relationship.” |
Cindy Smith (with daughter Sara) Teaching Assistant, Anthem “I think it’s fine. They should make it more difficult. Then people would think before they get married that marriage should be permanent. It was God’s intent for marriage to be permanent.” | Bill Schneider (with daughter Olivia Rose) Internet Sales Consultant, Anthem “The government should not regulate anything. Spousal abuse and other mitigating factors should give the court leeway in expediting a divorce.” |
John Collins Restaurant Manager, Anthem “I think if you are determined to get a divorce you will get one. Putting a time limit and forcing people to stay together when you don’t know what the situation is, is not right. It may be unfair to force people to stay together longer than they can bear.” |
