1.5 Acres, 1 Vote Print E-mail
Thursday, March 04 2010
Non-residential property owners in Anthem who, like homeowners, pay assessments, will get to vote in the upcoming election for the two open seats on the Anthem Community Council (ACC) Board.

At its monthly meeting last week, the ACC approved a motion that will give those property owners one vote for every lot or one vote for each 1.5 acres of property. A newly-formed elections committee will oversee the process. The voting deadline is March 31.

The motion passed 6-1 with ACC Director Pat Henson dissenting on grounds that the community had not had sufficient time for input on the change.

ClubCorp, which runs the golf courses in town and those oodles of acres, does not pay assessments and so will not get a vote. io
